Halloween Parties In Astoria & Queens
Cavo - Greek restaurant Astoria. Probably the biggest Halloween bash is hosted by Cavo in Astoria. We went to their party last year and it was a great party. Since they give away $2000 in prizes for best costumes, a lot of people come dressed to win. They have music, a comfortable outdoor garden, balcony seating and quiet tables. Cavo is a large well kept restaurant and night club, and they attract people from Queens, Long Island and Manhattan. The photo to your left is from the Cavo Halloween Party in Astoria in 2009.
Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden. The Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden has a weekend long Haunted Oktoberfest. They have Jack O'Lantern and costume contests paying $50 in prize money each day. On Friday they are offering drink specials. On Saturday during the day they're having a roasted pig. And on Saturday night a they're hosting a Monster Mash, with several bands playing live music. The Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden also has a nice outdoor beer garden.
Halloween Parties In Long Island City LIC
LIC Bar is hosting the Bad Buka's Haunted Masquerade Ball on Saturday night starting at 8 pm. The Bad Bukas will play from 9 to 11 pm. There will be prizes for best costume and drink specials. They also have an outdoor garden with a sound stage. We attended their Halloween party last year and it was a comfortable mix of people from LIC and surrounding Queens neighborhoods [see photo to right]. On this one there's a $10 cover.
The Creek & The Cave in LIC usually throws a good Halloween party too.

Halloween Parties In Sunnyside & Woodside Queens
Maggie Maes in Sunnyside throws a good Halloween party every year. We attended it in 2007 and 2008. They generally have some sort of music venue and lots of party-goers come dressed up. The crowd tends to be in their twenties and thirties, primarily from the surrounding Sunnyside, Woodside, LIC neighborhoods. The photo to your left was taken at the Halloween Party at Maggie Mae's in Sunnyside in 2008.
Saints & Sinners Pub in Woodside is hosting drink specials and live music from 10 pm - 2 am. They said they're not hosting any costume parties per say, but that party-goers are welcome.
Halloween Parties In Jackson Heights & Queens
Terraza Cafe on Gleane Street just off the triangle park at 84th Street in Jackson Heights isn't planning any costume parties either this year. But the bar attracts an eclectic crowd and occasionally offers live music.
On Sunday, October 31st at 11.30 am the JHBG Parade begins. It starts at 89th Street and 37th Avenue and heads west along 37th into the 70's.

On Saturday October 30th at Flushing Town Hall in Flushing there's an International Halloween Party for adults only that starts at 8 pm. Admission is $35 and includes treats and one drink. There will be a costume competition and live music by Cubiagra NYC's cumbia band.
Also at Flushing Town Hall, but on Sunday, October 31st there's a Halloween Party for kids starting at 2 pm and it's free.
